EDUCATION BA from WWU ABOUT ME From very early on, God gave me a love for kids...when I grew up, I wanted to be a wife and mom. I sometimes wondered if our decision to homeschool was a selfish one on my part so I could spend more time the fam! I've loved being a mom to my kids and now “Mia” to my grandson. I think my favorite thing about being a preschool teacher is that I get to hang out with kids...they are my people. I love seeing how God has gifted them in unique ways and how God uses those gifts to minister to others. Another passion that has developed over the past 20 years or so is a result of God impressing upon me His heart towards kids who have had a rough start in life. Every summer, it is my privilege to serve alongside my family at camp for foster kids called Royal Family Kids camp. If you want to know anything about it, ask me...I love talking about it! I love the joy and curiosity with which kids experience the world. After teaching K/1 for a few years, I have gotten to spend the last 10 years at home with my small humans. They are loud, they are all so unique, and they are mine :). Family time is my favorite time. We love nothing more than being outdoors: camping, hiking, and exploring the beaches are our happy place. I also love growing dahlias and veggies, cooking, making big crazy cakes for my kids, creating mosaics, sipping a cup of coffee on the back porch, spending time with good friends, and playing with my pup, Remi.
